Turkish Institutional Investment Managers' Association
Mission Statement
The Turkish Institutional Investment Managers' Association (TKYD) was established in 1999. The aim of TKYD is to contribute in the development and enhancement of mutual funds, investment trusts, asset management companies, private pension funds, life insurance companies and other institutional investors in Turkey.
Membership
TKYD makes up almost 90 percent of the Turkish mutual fund assets including investment trusts. TKYD has 28 institutional (asset management companies, insurance companies and brokerages) and 39 individual members. The board membership consists of top executives of Asset Management companies.
Functions
TKYD is a member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) and the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA).
Under the chairmanship of the board members, TKYD has set eight committees which are being supported through sector contentions.
TKYD makes and publishes indices to be used for benchmarking in the fund industry. These are KYD Funds, KYD Price, KYD O/N Repos, KYD TL DGB (Domestic Government Bonds), KYD FX DGB, KYD Eurobond, KYD Gold Price, KYD One Month Deposit, KYD Commercial Paper(FIX and FRN) and KYD Inflation Indices.
TKYD's other activities are summarized as; Annual Meeting of Turkish Collective Instruments Industry, participation to the preparations of the government's Istanbul Financial Center project, lobbying activities by the TKYD management to Turkish public authorities on tax and legislative issues and organising conferences domestically or internationally regarding the Turkish investment fund industry.
TKYD owns a sector magazine called 'Institutional Investor' and publishes quarterly since April 2008.
